Welcome to the website of the UBC Physics Society!
The UBC Physics Society (Physsoc) is a club for people who study physics, who enjoy physics, or who just want a cool place to spend their time with good company. We have tutoring and sell exam packages for first and second year physics classes, run a physics lecture series and mentorship program for undergrads, hold review sessions for courses, Python, and LaTeX, and maintain a private tutor list. We put together various social events for people to wind down and mingle with other students, faculty and staff in the Physics & Astronomy department, and sponsor our own intramural sports teams throughout the year. With classes being online this year, you can find us in our very own Discord server, open to everyone. After classes return to normal you can find us in Hennings 307, where we have a study lounge, a silent study space, a microwave, a fridge, and a foosball table.
You can join our mailing list by filling out the following form: https://forms.gle/sayuSsz4nNdwYQsB6. If you are interested in becoming a member, we are collecting memberships fees ($5 for the academic year) via Paypal. Send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org to get more information! Members receive access to some member-only events, discounts on exam packs, and when classes return to normal 24/7 building access to Hennings (only for students with a registered Phys/Astr degree specialization).
